About the artist
Tatyana Galtseva was born in Kemerovo (Siberia) in 1967. Since 2000, she has been living in Antwerp, Belgium.
Besides her daily work at the Hendrik Conscience Heritage Library, she has taken several courses (ceramics, painting) at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berchem. Since her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts, Tatyana has been working as an independent artist in her own studio.
The art theory of the founder of abstract art, Wassily Kandinsky has been an important source of inspiration in her search for her own forms and her own style and colour palette.
Tatyana aims to create associative series but also leave the viewer the possibility for their own associations. It is kind of trying to connect visual perception, consciousness and cognition (similar to the psycholinguistics theory about the link between language, cognition and consciousness) and harmoniously combine geometric and lyrical forms.
